Abergavenny
Abergavenny is a key gateway into The Brecon Beacon National Park and is worthy of a day out enjoying some of it’s delightful shops and other attractions!
In the middle of town there are walks to be taken in Castle Meadows, over the Usk to Llanfoist as well as a mapped “town walk”, details of which can be picked up from the Tourist Information Centre.
The Brecon Beacons, the Wye Valley, the Vale of Usk, the Black Mountains and the location of some of South Wales' most significant industrial heritage sites are just a short drive away.

Abergavenny Castle & Museum (01873 854282) Free Admission. One of the best examples of a motte and bailey castle in Britain.
St Mary’s Priory Church & The Jesse Tree – reputed to be one of the finest medieval wood carvings in the world.
'Linda Vista' open gardens since 1843. The gardens feature some rare orchids and enjoy stunning views across the Castle Meadows to the Blorenge.
Bailey Park located in the centre of the town, the park has a children’s play area and is home to Abergavenny Rugby Football Club.
